Boid is an EOS-based distributed computing project allowing users to earn rewards by contributing idle computing resources on their devices. This project aims to make blockchain technology more accessible to a broad audience. To participate in Boid, each user needs to install the Boid application on their computing devices. The Boid application can run on most MacOS, Windows computers as well as Android devices. When users allow the Boid application to run in the background, the application automatically contributes the available computing power of the device towards various distributed computing projects. Users computing contributions can be tracked online in the form of a metric called “Boid Power”, which dictates the rate at which a particular user will earn some monetary reward. Users can choose to redeem the monetary reward in the form of cryptocurrencies, including the native BOID token. Each user on the Boid platform is part of the Boid social network, where their contributions are tracked and rewarded in global leaderboards and social incentive programs.
Anyone with a computer (or compatible smartphone) and internet connection can use Boid by installing Boid application.
